Third Annual Bunny Drive in honor of
Sammie Hartsfield!
This year, we will be participating in the Third Annual Bunny Drive in honor of Sammie Hartsfield, a local girl who has been battling Osteosarcoma for over two years.
Please help put a smile on the faces of children at local hospitals by donating a new stuffed bunny or springtime animal of any size. Last year they collected over 600 bunnies and distributed them to UCD Children's Hospital, Woodland Memorial, Sutter Davis, Sutter General, Sutter Memorial and Shriners!
Please drop off donations at our March 19 meeting at Marjorie Morningstar’s—or if you’ll be unable to attend, you can drop them off at Fleur Forsyte’s home April 3.
Thank you for supporting local hospitals, and honoring Sammie!

A dozen duckies were purchased and named for each Reader,
Alas, none was 'plucked'--
but they still couldn't
have been sweeter!
Yolo County Historical Museum

The designers of the tree pose with their creation, above.

Readers in the Hood donated a tree to the Yolo County Historical Museum, Gibson House, for their annual Festival of Trees fundraiser. The tree's theme came from Gina B. Nahai's magical novel, CRY THE BELOVED PEACOCK. The auction winner took home both the tree, and a copy of the book which inspired it.
